NJ native Eric Wilkens has made his college decision and he's headed into the Big East wars. He has opted not to attend Seton Hall or Rutgers who were both recruiting him at some point, instead heading down south to Florida to the University of Miami. Eric is an extremely athletic 6'3" guard from Plainfield who transferred to Oak Hill Academy last season for his junior season. Eric went to St. Joseph's Metuchen as a Fr., and Piscataway as a sophomore. Eric was ranked as the 6th best Sophomore in NJ in the August 1999 NJ Hoops Newsletter. Eric played all summer with NJ traveling teams, including the MSU Skyliners, Newark Rams, and Jersey Demons.
