There were no Division 1 coaches at the Metro Top 100 at Seton Hall University this weekend due to NCAA regulations. That did not stop D-1 talent, over 70 Division 2 and 3 college coaches, and a half dozen scouting services from attending the two day event. One of the mid to high major talents on hand was 6'2" Colonia Sr. Justin Chiera from Colonia H.S.. Justin recently visited Central Connecticut St., and plans on visiting Central Florida and Hartford in the near future. Also being strongly considered are Richmond, Wagner, St. Peter's, Lehigh and William & Mary.
The sharpshooter, and reigning Middlesex County Player of the year was a Top 20 All Star at the 3rd week of Eastern Invitational Camp this past July. As a Jr. Justin averaged 21.3 ppg, 4.7 apg, with 49 3's. In the state playoffs Justin upped his average to 24 ppg. Justin led Colonia to the Middlesex County Tournament championship, and a 20 - 5 mark. NJ Hoops selected Justin as a 4th team All State selection, and 1st team Middlesex County pick.
