FDU got an early commitment from 6'3" New Utrecht NY guard Chad Timberlake. Explaining why he chose FDU, Chad said,"I feel like it's a program on the rise." "I like the location fairly close to home, and the Coaches were great." Chad played at St. Anthony's High School in Jersey City his So. year, and has played AAU ball with St. Michael's in NJ.

?In the May 2000 NJ Hoops Newsletter, playing with St. Michael's Chad was a 2nd team All Tournament selection in the NJ 19 & under State Tournament, and 3rd team All Tournament selection in the NJ 17 & Under Tournament. Chad played last month in Florida with the Central Jersey Hawks.

Chad had also received interest from Wagner, Boston University, Sacred Heart, and Hofstra.
